What nana is

nana is a place to find homemade food from real home cooks near you. Cooks ("Nurturers") share the dishes they make; everyone else ("Enjoyers") browses, follows and asks to order.

No money changes hands in the app. An order is a request to a cook — you agree the details in the order chat, then pay them directly when you collect the food or they drop it off.

Common questions

Why can't I order some dishes?

Some kitchens on nana were brought over from our earlier platform and their cook hasn't set the dish up for ordering yet. Those dishes still show so you can see the food and follow the cook — they just don't have a price or an order button. Follow the cook and you'll see it when they start taking orders.

How do I order?

  1. Open a dish and tap Request (or Order when the cook has a drop scheduled).
  2. Choose how many portions and add a note if you need to.
  3. The cook replies in the order chat, where you settle time, place and price.

I forgot my password

Tap Forgot password on the login screen and enter your email. If your kitchen came across from our earlier platform, this is also how you claim it — the same link sets your password for the first time.

How do I become a cook?

Open your profile and choose Become a cook. You'll be asked for a few details about your kitchen before your first dish goes live. Check your local cottage-food rules before you start selling — nana can point you at them, but the rules are yours to follow.

Someone posted something they shouldn't have

Tap the ⋯ menu on any post, dish or profile to report it. You can also block or mute someone from their profile — blocking stops them contacting you or seeing your content. Reports go to our review queue and we act on them; if something is urgent, email app@thenana.app.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time:

  1. Open your profile
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm

This permanently removes your profile, your dishes and posts, your messages and your order history. It can't be undone, and we can't restore an account once it's gone. If you'd rather we did it for you, email app@thenana.app from the address on the account.

What happens to your data afterwards — including the short window in which backups still contain it — is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy and your data

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, who processes it on our behalf, and how to ask for a copy of your data or have it erased. For anything privacy-related, write to app@thenana.app.
